Hello,

I recently had to do a fresh install of windows 8.1 on my pc since my windows was causing errors. Prior to the fresh install, the advanced properties in the display settings showed 2 gb of dedicated graphics memory of my HD 7670m and 1 GB of shared graphics memory. Now after the fresh install the shar3e system memory has gone up to 3.1 GB of shared memory. This has caused my pc to run low on usable memory putting it into a bottleneck. I have tried getting into the bios which is f.13 and have tried multiple ways to reduce the shared memory but it's just not been possible.

I would highly appreciate it if I could get a way to reduce this shared memory. I have 6 gigs of RAM installed and have an x64 system. No issues with usable ram or OS. Just need a way to reduce the over-shared memory.

Thanks in advance!

What kind of computer you using a desktop or laptop? shared graphics memory can't be decrease or increase " in my idea " but it depends in a desktop you can decrease in the bios just look around for graphics and memory but for the laptop i think that is a no..

Two things you should understand clearly first

1.I think you are mistaken by some wrong internet information.Shared memory has nothing to do with ram memory.although the shared video memory is used from Ram , This is only when your pc in need of high amount of video memory for purpouse like gaming...Which automatically increase and decrease according to the pc need (maximum is 2 gb)

2.Dedicated memory is a gpu memory either provided by graphics card or shared from ram as a permanent, gpu memory which will be lower than (192 mb).RAM shared dedicated memory will always be lower if it is higher than 192 mb(without having a graphics card)you are in a serious trouble.Somehow your ram is permanently utilised by your gpu.

strictly i wont recommend you to change the dedicated gpu memory or shared gpu memory. It should be set by PC default.Try reinstalling OS correctly without any modification on default settings
