hi guys,

(sorry for my english!)

specs:
i5 6600K@4.4GHz, Corsair LPX DDR4-3000, MSI Z170A Krait Gaming 3X, MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X, Seasonic M12II EVO 620W PSU (i have this PSU since 2014, but it was in its box for a year at least, used only for a few months in a gaming pc, nothing serious)

i built a new (except the PSU) gamer (and working) pc a week ago. since then i was testing it, everything was fine until yesterday evening.

i removed the side panel of the case, just to mount the CPU cooler's fan (Noctua NH-C14S) differently, then put it back, turned the PC on and started Prime95 to see what difference the new fan position did. it run perfectly, so i wanted to slide the PC back to its normal position carefully (just a few inches / centimeters away). after i started to move it, it suddenly turned off. WITHOUT any noise or smoke or ... . and it doesn't turn on anymore. i don't see any burned parts on the MB or something like that. if i press the power switch, literally nothing happens. no lights turn on on the MB, no fan spin, ... nothing.

is my PSU dead? or something else? how could i test it without special tools? if it's the PSU, do you think it killed other components in the case?

thanks for the answers in advance!

Solution

thank you for the quick reply!
in an other forum, a guy told me to check the PSU's power cord first, maybe there's a contact issue with it, aaaand...
yes! i would have never guessed that. so simple... switched to an other power cable, and it works again.
