Hello, I got into PC gaming this year and I decided to buy some top tier components for my PC, but they don't seem to be working very well (compared to what I've heard about the GTX 1080 being a beast and whatnot).
My specs are :
CPU : Intel i7-6700k
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Founders Edition
Cooler: Corsair H100i v2
RAM: Samsung DDR4 8G 17000 (I currently have two 8GB installed resulting in 16GB of total RAM)
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A
PSU: XFX PRO 850W Gold
Compared to what I've seen on youtube (FPS tests of games), I've been only getting a maximum of 50 to 60 FPS on games such as Skyrim (modded), Fallout 4, Overwatch, and GTA 5. I am running these games on 1920x1080p and on pretty damn high settings. However, I sometimes (about 10% of my gameplay) get huge FPS drops sometimes to about 30 FPS.
Am I doing something wrong or did I put too much hope into the Graphics Card? Keep in mind that I am not overclocking(because I don't know how). If that FPS (with high settings) can be achieved by stable overclocking, what would be the best solution to do so?
