Hello,

I am getting terrible gpu usage while playing battlefield 4 and as a result, my FPS are nothing compared to what I see online(although at times they are, but nothing significant). I am hesitant to think that it is my gpu and more of a cpu issue because when I play, my cpu usage hovers between 70-90%. Is this a bottleneck? Is my cpu too old to handle my newly purchased gpu?

i5-4670
EVGA gtx 1080
16gb ram

Any helpful hints at what it might be are greatly appreciated it.

I'm running everything on ultra settings at 1440p resolution. I see everyone online with the same or similar card and they are able to achieve a steady 99% gpu usage. So, I'm a bit dumbfounded as to why I am unable to...unless its another component that is severely hindering me.

If memory serves me well(Not in front of my PC right now)...I believe so. I feel whenever I looked at the FPS, gpu usage, cpu usage, the fps was always lowish(80s-90s..possibly lower) and my CPU usage was always super high(at least I feel its super high). Super high as in 80-90%

Some games proved that playing online may affect the overall performance in some scenarios, I'm not sure if it has to do with bandwidth, ping or something else but I can assure you that it happens.
