Received my GTX 1080 G1 Gaming from Gigabyte yesterday, (upgrade from my GTX 960). I've been playing on 1080p 144hz with resolution scale at 150% would it be worth me upgrading to a 1440p monitor?

Solution
Yes, absolutely if you value "eye candy". 1440p looks a lot better than 1080p, plus you can get a larger monitor without sacrificing the pixel density (27" is a good size for 1440p).

I was looking and monitoring those monitors as well. The problem is they are extremely expensive in local stores, and buying online is a lottery, the panel quality control is very bad, and you may end up returning up to five monitors and eventually giving up buying it.

The only one I can "recommend" is Eizo Foris FS2735. Although it uses the same panel, it has proven to have better quality control and adds extra features.

Also Dell S2716DG is an excellent monitor, but it's a TN panel not IPS.

That's the only thing I'm worried by, QC seems to be quite hit and miss with the ROG line, the x34 G-Sync would be ideal but it's like £1000 to buy new, anyway thanks for the help!

Qnix QX2710 seems to be an excellent monitor for it's price and category, but it lacks 120/144hz refresh rate, DisplayPort, and FreeSync/G-Sync support to compete with the monitors mentioned above.

They almost all will run 120hz (mine does), but its not gaurenteed.

Its true they lack FreeSync/Gsync and display port, but they are about 50% cheaper so worth considering if them things are worth the money.

Very good point, I do plan on going sli 1080 in the next couple of months, so I think it would be best for me to stay with what I have for the moment then buy the x34 or ROG PG279Q?

If you have nVidia gpu you should keep their G-Sync! AMD FreeSync works only between 30-60 fps tho...
