I have a headset which is mainly used for a Xbox One controller but it can also be used on a laptop. I want to use it to speak and listen at the same time but it only has one connector, my laptop also only has one connecting port so I have to sacrifice one for the other, is there anyway to fix this?

i´m not sure if I got your problem srtaight. Do you wanna listen to yourself or hear music while chatting on the headphones or chatting while hearing music/voice over an external device?

What if the computer does not recognize the mic as plugged in? I built my own desktop computer and I use headphones with a built in mic, but i dont have a combo jack, so when i plug it into the headphone jack it allows me to hear music while it wont allow me to talk ( same goes for the other way around ) any solution?

Use a splitter which splits the signal into two jacks. One for headphone and one for the mic. Next time if you have a problem, please start a new thread
