my specs :
OS: Windows 10 pro X64
CPU : Intel core i5-4440
GPU : AMD r9 280
MB : GA-Z97-D3H
RAM : G.skill Ripjaws 4GB (2 X 4GB) DDR3 1600 CL9 1.5v

Hi everyone at first I had a problem installing an identical 4 GB RAM to my original one and windows kept crashing so in my attempts to solve the problem I reinstalled windows only to find out that my GPU was causing the problem and windows kept crashing only able to boot in safe mode.
And I tried memtest86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and both showed that there is no error.
At first I tried to install (Crimson-16.6.1) which worked just fine on my old windows before installing the new RAM but when the installer said installing amd video driver my screen started to flicker (normally) then windows crashed in a very similar way to the beginning when I was trying to boot the old windows but it gave me a blue screen (that never appeared again in my other attempts) with error (video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys) so looking around I found this problem .

I tried the best solution expanding both atikmpag.sys and atikmdag.sys in safe mode but it didn't work anyway so I uninstalled the AMD driver using DDU just to be sure, reboot and got into windows normally, used windows for couple of hours no problem at all then I tried to install the driver again and this time it finished only for windows to crash couple of minutes later and windows to crash at loading as usual, I tried to uninstall again then installed (crimson-16.7.2) again no luck then tried to install (crimson-16.3.2) but it didn't work either.
So now I can't boot except into safe mode.
Any help is appreciated.

To be honest with you that almost every person on here has a problem on their windows it is kind of wierd right? But this kind of problem occurs when people install a wrong driver like a pre-release but iam just saying that you might of installed a wrong driver? but iam just saying this in my own opinon. sorry i dont know what this problem is but i have a similar problem to you but diffrent. try search some tips on other websites or ask on dfferent websites. You should backup windows before changing something in your pc :D

Well thanks I solved my problem long time ago by flashing my GPU BIOS and it works perfectly now.
