Ubiquiti NanoStation 2.4Ghz Wireless-N Access Point' fitted to mast connected to campsite's wifi..whats the best way to create a HotSpot with this device,,,Router?

Solution
Not sure I would buy anything less. Few if any companies make the older equipment so I am not real sure you can even find something like a 802.11g router.

You can get very basic 802.11n routers for $25.
you need to run the ubiquiti in client mode not access point. It to a point depends how the campsite runs their stuff. If they do not have WDS enabled you will have to have a router and use the wan port connected to the ubiquiti. WDS is the feature that allows multiple mac addresses to run over the same connection.

Using a router will also get you past some of the web logon stuff campsites use, if you run it as a AP then each device will be seen by the main router.

thanks so much Im not really a Tech' wifi person but I sort of understand your advice however can you possible advise what Router would suit we need to run 3 devices in the caravan ???:)

It would not be anything all that special since you are sitting right on top of the router. Buy from a well known company like tplink, asus, netgear etc to be sure you get good support. I would look for dual band routers that use the 600m number. It will be the most cost effective since you are being limited by your end devices and the connection back to the main camp. If price is a real issue then look at single band routers that use 300m.

Most differences in routers is features in the software so you have to look and decide if one router has feature you need and other do not. Read the online manuals before you buy so you can see which you like better.
