Hey guys I am unable to ping my home dynamic IP address. When I am actually on the network I am able to ping my network with no issues, but when away I only get 100% loss. I have a Linksys WRT1900 router at home and a home server that I can remotely log into with no problems. Any help is much appreciated.

Do you have remote ping disabled on your router?

Also, just to understand, why do you want to ping an internal IP address while external to your network?

I suppose if you can login to your server remotely, you could use it to ping other devices on the same internal network as the server. Some routers can also so this.

Keep in mind, you make your home network vulnerable when you enable remote access. Just something to be aware of.
