Hey guys,

I wanted to know if I could replace my laptop CPU with a better one.
I have a Dell 64bit, Win 7, 8gb RAM, 1tb HD, 2.10 GHz pc, but the only problem is that it is Intel Pentium xD, I wanted to upgrade it to intel core i3 to properly play games like cs:go.

Could I do that?

Thanks.

It won't brick the laptop.

Look up your laptop model and see what other cpus were offered. If there were none, try to google and see if anyone tried to upgrade. Many laptop cpu upgrades are "try at your own risk" since you won't find a cpu support list. Typically I see it works as long as it's not a higher tdp so doesn't run into power/heat issues. Also you don't really want to spend much on old hardware.

The problem is that I can't buy another one right now, because I live in Brazil and 1 dollar here is like 4 reais, so everything from outside costs like 4 times more (here in brazil the pcs and laptops' quality are ****)

Well right but, for every dollar I earn, you'd earn 4 reais, so it should balance out...
Anyway, attempting to replace the CPU will likely brick your laptop.
It isn't going to be supported properly anyway, be a huge amount of work, etc.

You should probably be able to find a used A8 or A10 based system - that would give you a good performance for only a couple hundred.
