Help finding which device is hogging my data...

Hello all.

So here is the situation. My internet really sucks. 60GB a month, at an advertised speed of 300kB per second. So I gotta conserve it, honestly.

However, I am overshooting my data limit, when frankly I know I shouldn't be, simply put. No t enough active use on my end. That being said, I am sure there is some background process that is taking things up. Perhaps Win10 updates (I already turned off what I could and set to metered connection), perhaps a virus, perhaps the family tablets are doing something weird, or somethin else. Bottom line is this: How do I figure out which is the data hog? I have an ASUS RT-N66U router, but unfortunately the device software, while it will say how many devices are connected and total daily GB transfer, doesn't seem to say what device the data is going to. In other words, it doesn't seem to mention the specific device IP that is hogging it.

I would appreciate your help if possible because this is driving me nuts. Is there some external software I can use?

Thanks!

PS going into the resource moniter, the deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com seems to use a lot of data. Thoughts on what that is? FYI on this particular device I did a full scan of all drives, incl. rootkits, with malwarebytes and it is clean

Solution
Look for alternative firmware images for your router (DD-WRT, Tomato, Gargoile). Some of these versions have per-device monitoring and accounting.

You can also use old-school method: Leave only one device connected per day.
Last but not least - make sure your WiFi is secure and there are no leachers.
