Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time out to read this (and hopefully help). I assembled my new computer and everything works except for the hard drive which is not detected in the bios which means I can't use an os. The hard drive like everything in this build is new and I clueless as to why my bios isnt recognising it. It is working i can hear it. The sata data cable is new and i replaced it just to check if it made a difference. I can't install the motherboard cd drivers because it needs a cd drive which I don't have ( and im not sure that would fix the problem). Currently to use the computer i am using linux ubuntu which boots off a usb. The power cable powering the drive is also kinda connected to the graphics card if that makes a difference.

PC SPECS

CPU:AMD athlon x4 860k
Motherboard: Gigabyte f2a68hm-hd2
Graphics Card: xfx radeon r9 380 2gb
Psu: 500w CiT
Ram:8gb DDR3 crucial
Hdd:Hitachi 320gb 7200rpm from jan 2011 but its new.(hds721032cl)

If you guys can help me I would be extremely grateful.

Solution
Hey there, Dafaquack.

Try a different SATA port as well and a different power cable. Make sure that you've connected everything properly. You could also try updating the BIOS/UEFI or at least reset it to see if the same thing happens. You should also try the drive with a different computer if you have that option. If the issue reoccurs, go ahead and RMA it.

Hope that helps.
