Is the 1060 an upgrade over my 970??

Other than the obvious 2 Gb's of extra memory, would it a worthwhile upgrade from my EVGA SC 970?? I noticed the lower CUDA core count, so it got me wondering if I should do this after all. Thanks!

No. It hasn't been officially benchmarked yet but the early leaks show it roughly equal to the card you have now. Maybe slightly more powerful. Certainly not enough to justify an upgrade. You want a GTX 1070 at minimum which is about equal to a 980 Ti.
