Trouble deciding on an SSD

So, I'm building a PC soon (next couple months) for gaming mostly. I don't do any intensive work. I don't work with CAD or anything like that, but I want this PC to hold its own for quite a while since I'm dropping around 3K into it (computer+perihperals). My question is on SSD's. I am deciding between probably a Samsung 850 Pro 512GB Sata III and an Intel 750 400GB PCI SSD. I have read reviews for both, pros and cons for both, I have seen the benchmarks, I just want some decent opinions on the matter. I don't mind dropping the extra bucks for the Intel, but then again, if the Samsung will deliver a better outcome for any reason, I'm open to that as well.

Btw, here is the rest of my build.

Thank you!!

Noooo. The 750 is for very SMALL reads and writes. That's where it's exceptional IOPS come in to play. For a general purpose machine primarily for having the 950 pro meets those two options in the middle and is VERY powerful by today's standards. The 750 would indeed be overkill most likely.
The general rule of thumb is the Intel 750 is appropriate if a user routinely works with files larger than 1GB. The Samsung 950 Pro is appropriate for users routinely working with files smaller than 1GB. For the vast majority of mainstream users the Samsung models are more than sufficient. In fact for general purpose use the Samsung 850 EVO, the all-time best selling ssd, is all that is needed.

In case you haven't seen it yet, here is a link to an ssd database that I maintain:

The database includes links to technical reviews.

Thanks for your response! Yeah, as of now, I do not work with files larger than 1GB usually. However, I may pursue a career in which requires work with statistical packages (R, STATA, SPSS). To be honest, I don't need the 750, but it's something I feel I'd want. Idk, I'm probably going overkill. Also, thank you for your database link!
