MoBo: Asrock Fatal1ty X99M Killer

PSU: Coolermaster v1000
HDD: Sandisk SDD 240GB (SSDSDHII240G)
O/S: Win 10

I have been playing BF 4 for some time now with these parts. I had an issue a while back which was fixed, then had an overheating issue which is now resolved. I am playing at Ultra high resolution and am getting 120FPS as I have set it so in the Radeon Settings. I play for about 20 to 30 minutes and the FPS drops to 20. I have read much on this issue with people being effected from 6 or more months ago. The things i have tried are the following:

  • uninstall, reboot, reinstall the latest AMD drivers.
    unpark the cores
    disable Intel Turbo Core technology
Clearing out cache and registry through AVG PC Tune up and CCleaner
updating all Windows software hardware and BIOS related to my machine
Repairing and updating BF4 in Origin
    Disable Origin in-game
Use sfc/scannow in CMD as admin (errors found and fixed)
    Copied:
    WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
    WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
    WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256
    WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
    RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0
    PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
    PerfOverlay.DrawFps 0
    GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.99
and pasted it into notepad format as "user.cfg" and saved it into my BF4 folder
Now I am pretty much running low on what can be done. Has anyone get any further tips or tricks up their sleeves they have tried?
I would be grateful and TIA

Solution
It's not so much nvidia, more the fact they have the best cards right now. The 280x is a strong card but cf/sli needs a proper case and cooling to work besr.

A 1070 is an excellent choice
mid 80's...MIGHT be an issue depending on VRM temps which often aren't monitored. the fact one is much hotter suggest CF profile is poor for BF4 or the cooling in your case is poor. Do you have a sufficient sized case with decent airflow?

Really, the cards should be within 10C of each other.
