Hello! A friend of mine gifted me his FX-8350 and I'm probably going to install it to replace my Phenom II x4 970 (besides upgrading my RAM from 8 to 16GB) tomorrow. I have never changed a CPU before, so I'm a bit concerned about the process and I don't have things clear enough even after reading and watching tutorials.

My motherboard is a 990fx Sabertooth Version 1 with UEFI Bios. Do I need to change some values and/or clear the CMOS before/after replacing the CPU and the RAM sticks? Also, should I update my BIOS (which is another thing I have never done before) to install the 8350 in that motherboard?

Thank you kindly in advance!
