My MSI Ge60-Apache Pro-003 laptop has served me well, but I am looking for an upgrade to something bigger and better for future use. I do a lot of gaming and rendering/3d compression work, so I need something that's a little faster than the i7-4700HQ and GTX 880M my old laptop came with. This new build I am trying to keep in the $1200-1250 range, and am looking to see if anyone on this site has an idea on how I could improve my build (https://pcpartpicker.com)?

Notes:

1. I have a SanDisk 250GB SATA III SSD lying around unused, so I intend to use that as my boot drive, which is why there is only a 1TB Seagte HDD included.

2. I am still not sold on using the R9 390 GPU, but it appears to be the best option in the 250 range right now (I am looking to assemble this build within a couple weeks, and don't really want to wait a couple months for the 1060 to finally become available, and I want to include the option for future upgrades, mainly adding another GPU).

3. This is my first ever build, so if anyone sees something that they think might be a problem for me I would greatly appreciate the feedback on that.

Though I just made this account recently, I have consistently used the forums here on Tom's Hardware to put together my list, and I hope that its users can continue their success at guiding newbie builders like myself.

Do you think I need a 750W or something higher?
