Hi guys! Just built a new PC (specs: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/8qkgwV)
But I'm having few problems. I'm a newbie and building the PC was SOOO HARD and I'm quite worries about these problems, don't know if some hardware are defective, so I would really appreciate your help!

1. My 2nd SSD and HDD aren't appearing in my pc, probably because I didn't format and partition them. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I tried entering into the boot menu by pressing F11 as indicated on the start up menu, but nothing happens.

2. My GPU have 2 lights on (the two lights on top of the 2 connectors) even after the PC has been shut down)...

Thanks so much for all help and suggestions!

You have a few issues with this build ....

1. You spent a ton of money for the extra features and performance of a 6700k and then put them in a MoBo that can not take advantage of them.

2. Since you can't OC, the expensive cooler really doesn't have a role to perform

3. The MoBo is a tiny feature limited one.... and yet you put it in a full size case ?

4. The PSU is oversized for one GFX card but undersized for two.

Before addressing your questions ... I'd return that MoBo and get a MoBo that isn't crippling the capabilities of the system.

As to the questions.

1. Where are you looking ? Have you opened Disk Manager ? Are power and data cables plugged in ?

2. Are both the 6 and 8 pin cables plugged in ? That's a whole...
if the drives show up in the bios you have to use windows disk management to format and give the new drive letters in windows.
on the gpu issue. make sure all of the power plug needed for the gpu are pluggged in and the 8/4 pin atx power on the side of the mb is connected.
check your mb bios rev make sure it up to date to rule out a bios bug.
on the mouse make sure you installed the intell chipset drivers and mei drivers. make sure the mouse contol software the newest has been installed.

3. Did you install all the drivers that were on the MoBo CD ? The Mouse CD ? The CDs for all other components ? Did you disable / stop Win10 from installing hardware drivers ?

Seriously ... I would take the system apart and return the MoBo immediately. Buy an appropriate Z170 MoBo.

Add a wireless card if your are not going to run a cable (cable highly recommended)

I would then rebuild the system as before and

1. Connect the SATA data cable for the boot CD to the lowest numbered SATA port. Leave the other data cables disconnected.

2. Install windows after formatting the SSD. Do NOT let Windows Update run.

3. Turn off Windows Update ability to screw up ya machine and stop it from adding hardware drivers as per link above. If ya don't want Windows to track any activities install Anti-Beacon
https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot-anti-beacon/

4. Install all hardware drivers and utilities from the CDs in the boxes.

5. Run Windows Update however many time it takes to stop doing more d/ls

6. Check manufacturer's web site for all of your components, download and install latest BIOS, drivers, utilities.

7. Connect data cable for 2nd SSD to 2nd lowest SATA port.

8. Connect data cable for HD to 3rnd lowest SATA port.

9. Open Disk Management and format / partition, label the drive as you see fit.

You're totally right about the mobo man. I'm a newbie and I just followed an advice online, I only regret it when I saw its tiny size and horrible design. It was a pain to build and plug everything on this mobo. But I can't return it anymore because my OEM OS is now tied to it, I would need to pay another 100$ for OS in addition to the mobo. Moreover building this PC was way to painful, definitely don't want to experience anything like it for awhile. Plus I don't plan to OC anything right now, so I can wait. Unless the mobo will actually drag back performance (which people say won't happen).

I will look into your suggestions and advice. Thanks a lot
