Is my CPU getting too hot?

Recently my fps has dropped quite a bit and from looking at HWMonitor my cpu is normally running at 125c, its not making my pc freeze or anything just a drop in fps, my gpu has temperatures reaching up to only 55c...

125C is waaay to hot, you should immediately investigate. CPUs should not really go over 70C with proper installation and going over 120 is insane. Normally going over 90 is bad. I am quite sure your CPU cooler is not connected correctly. Please read a guide on how to re-seat your cooler on your CPU. Remember safety first. Must unplug PC etc.

Basically what is probably happening is that the thermal paste (which conducts the heat off the CPU into the heat sink) is not touching correctly. Then the CPU heats up quickly under load and throttles back to save itself. 125C is very high though and you...
