Hello,

I've recently started a new build.

Specs include:
Asus Maximus 8 Hero Mobo
Intel i7 6700k
Corsair H100i (I was using this with my previous build but moved it to my new build)
No GPU installed yet

The build is currently finished with no harddrives and GPU. When I turn it on and check my temperatures in BIOS, it just kept rising from 30 degrees C to about 75 degrees C where I decided to turn it off since it looked odd. I'm not sure whether it's important to note, but I'm running 4 fans on my H100i radiator; 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom (the H100i is about 4 years old but was running perfectly fine on my other build). Everything has yet to be overclocked.

If someone has had similar experiences or knows what is wrong with my system, any advice or help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi D72kim :) and yes something is definitely wrong.

I have encountered this problem before in other threads. How did you apply your TIM and with what did you use.
Check the tubing pipes to test for heat transfer.
Loosen the hold down brackets to the Cooler and see if that helps.
Is the cooler RPM acceptable in Bios.?

Hi MeanMachine41,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm having a killer headache from completing the build for the majority of my day.
thermal paste was applied as a small dot in the center of my CPU and pressed down with the heatsink.

I might have bolted it down a bit too hard and I will loosen it in the morning tomorrow.

I'll get back to you with results!

Once again, thanks for you help so far, really appreciate it!
