Motherboard + CPU for 150$?

Hi,

I want to get a new motherboard and new CPU which will cost less than 150$. I don't have much knowledge of a CPU. I want to play CS:GO at higher FPS and other game as well.

Will a 4th Gen i3 enough for this?
My currend specs are:
Core 2 duo @2.4
GTS 250

I could get 80 fps but I need to get around 150.

If you want a gaming PC which will last at least 5 years, I would try to plan a budget higher as USD150 for both proc and mobo.
Consider to get an i5 6500 and a cheap B150 or H170 mobo and at least 8GB DDR4 RAM.

If all you want to play is CS:GO an i3 is fine for that (and most other games). If you have designs on play more demanding/modern games you'll need to upgrade your GPU and it might be worth getting an i5 at the same time.

If you currently have a Core 2 Duo, a better option would be to get a new graphics card not a new processor/mobo.

you could go for a 2nd hand i5-4460 or better with a cheap mobo.
