Help with GPU and Display Resolutions

Hi guys, so I have the BenQ GW2765HT and wanted to know, which adapter do I use to connect it to the gtx 1080? HDMI? DVI? DVI-D? Which one is best? I am using a 1440p monitor.

Among other advantages, DP is capable of higher bitrate of 25.92 Gbit/s compared to DVI's 7.92 Gbit/s.
(Wikipedia has good info on them if you want to know more. I just refreshed my memory myself)

DP is a much newer standard and so I better in almost every way.
