Okay so here is the problem.. When i leave my PC idle (without moving the mouse), the GPU workload jumps from 0% to 100% and the temperature from 35 to 50 instantly. Same with the CPU.I don't have anything open when this starts happening except Open Hardware Monitor which i use to monitor the temps of the PC. I should also mention that this does not happen when i have the Task Manager opened, which leads me to believe (as i read on few forums) that this problem might be caused by a Bitcoin Miner. I used Malwarebytes and few other antivirus programs but neither of them found a virus. Whenever i format my PC (because of this issue) , the problem appears again after a few days. So, if it is a Bitcoin Miner can it be in the BIOS ? .... Any help would be really appreciated ....

GPU : Gigabyte GTX 980
CPU : Intel Core i7 950
Motherboard : Gigabyte x58-USB 3
Memory : 6 GB DDR3
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate x64

That sounds exactly what was causing the problem.

Was it hiding on another drive to the one you were wiping then?

sounds like you are getting infected with malware miners or such

open the task manager and see what process is causing the issue by sucking cpu cycles

Thank you for replying. When the Task Manager is open , this problem does not appear or as soon as i open the Task Manager it stops with the overheating and overloading. That's why i think it might be a bitcoin miner, it hides the process .. So i can't really see the process in the Task Manager.

This is running in the moment ...

That's the thing ... already did that few times . Full format . After 2-3 days after the format this happens again. As i said nothing can be found in the Task Manager because the virus (at least i think it's a virus) doesn't start processing while the Task Manager is open. As soon as i close the Task Manager , doesn't matter what else is running , after a few minutes it activates when the PC is idle.

Ty for replying. I think i found the problem. File in the uTorrent directory called nvtray.exe 32 , i scanned it on virustotal and corresponds with bitcoin miner trojan .... since i deleted it i haven't had the same issue, i just hope that this was the problem..

No, the same drive, but i install uTorrent everytime after i do a format. uTorrent were already blamed for having bitcoin miner in their software but i thought they learned their lesson. Guess not ...
