Solution
Hello... I had G45 and P35 MB's with four sticks of 2gb and 8gb DDR2800 total working in mine... You only have 2 slots so 4GB should work for you... AND your MAX B /...what CPU are you going to use?
Hello... Typically the intel Q35 chipset will be 2GB per Slot... and a MAX of 8GB on MB... Using NON-ECC PC2 6400 or DDR2 800... BUT it all depends Who wrote the BIO's for it and made the MB.

Who made your MB? is it a major brand or Dell? Acer? Gateway? unknown?

It was some company called NECOLA back then, i cudnt find them anywhere online now.
However report from HWinfo shows it like this:
Motherboard ---------------------------------------------------------------
Computer Brand Name: SHARP
Motherboard Model:
Motherboard Chipset: Intel Q35 (Bearlake-Q) + ICH7
Motherboard Slots: 2xPCI Express x1
PCI Express Version Supported: v1.1
USB Version Supported: v2.0

So the brand is SHARP? I am not sure. But the box definitely reads Necola
