When I plug in my external hard drive to my desktop PC no matter which USB port my computer windows explorer freezes until I remove it again. But I have found this only happens on my desktop PC. when I plug the external hard drive into my laptop it works perfectly. It seems to only be a problem on my desktop PC.

Hey there, addey.

I'd backup all my data right away if I were you. This is just a precaution. After that go ahead and try it out with a different USB cable as well with the PC (no matter the fact that it works OK on the laptop with the current cable). If you still have issues with the drive, you should download its manufacturer's diagnostic tool and run the tests, to see if there's anything out of the ordinary.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
