I bought lenova yoga 2 13" with i5 (4210) when I checked laptop is out of warranty from march so it is 1.5 years old and the battery is still working fine.

I was wondering if I put it in to refrigerator or freezer, will I be able to get more battery performance from it ?

If yes which one is more safe and effective.

If you ask what I will do with the laptop I will play world of warcraft lich king (2009) and web browsing.

Thank you and sorry for my English.

Solution

Freezer is a no go, refrigerator has a minimal effect, thats really it.

Rechargeable batteries still have a finite lifetime. You can slow it a little but thats about the best you can do.

Never put it in the freezer.

Some people report keeping it cool it the fridge does help it get a little bit more power out of it, if the battery is removeable then this could help somewhat, but it doesn't make a permanent change or slow its eventual degradation.

Thank you for your Reply it's looks like it wont help :( It is not removable but I can open and take it out. It is not li-on it is li-polimer this might be the case why. I was reading if you keep it in cold environment under 20 degree they will get their life back (what lost it will come). But looks like nothing I an do replacement is expensive here £65

18650 batteries are lithium ion, not polymer. Polymer batteries do not like the cold and going below 0 degree c will most likely damage them.

Lithium batteries are not to be played around with, they are a genuine fire hazard if misused. If the battery is not performing you need to replace it, they have a finite life and once exhausted need to be replaced.
