Corsair H100i V2 Fan won't stop

Hi, I've built my first PC yesterday. I have a i7-6700k, and am using a h100i v2 cooler.

The problem I've ran into is when benchmarking my rig(3DMark), the fans rev up, but 15 mins AFTER the benchmark, when the CPU load is around 5% and the temps are around 30, the fans are still on full throttle.

Corsair links indicate that they are spinning at around 1000 RPM. The other thing is that before benchmarking, I can hear the fans going up and down whenever the CPU peaks in temperature, BUT the always go back down...

I've set my profile option to Quiet. What is the problem? Is it the hardware?

UPDATE:
I've just checked and some other people had the same issue. Apparently it may be because my fans are spinning depending on CPU temps instead of water pump temps, but where do I change this setting?

The problem now is that once the fans hit a high RPM they dont go back down when the CPU load and temps are back to idle temps.

Solution
My guess would be it is going out of range. Try limiting the maximum fan speed with a custom curve so it doesn't go quite that fast, also be a lot quieter if you are using stock fans.

I never did have much luck with Corsair link myself, only worked for a few months before it stopped reporting RPMs. Didn't seem to matter if I wiped the software and installed the latest or anything. My h80i is still plugging along cooling an i7-950.

The custom fan curve would be creating a new profile in the corsair link right?

I can't it wont let me modify anything in the bios, even switching from PWM to DC it does nothing and corsair link wont do anything either only changing the LED colour...maybe its a header issue because i can change fan speed from bios with the other headers, its only sitting there doing nothing if its plugged into the CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT header...seems to me like faulty headers no ?
