Cpu temp is 86 deg. Cpu diode temp 190 deg. iMac G5. Why the big difference?

iMac G5. A1145. Fans blowing no apps load. Running thermagraphics app to monitor temp. Getting high diode temps. But low cpu temp?

Eventually it will go to sleep. Console system log says overheat condition.

Can it be false temp signal? Or cooling stack not working right? Does not seem to have hot air coming out of vents.

Running 10.4.11.

Thanks for sending. Curious where this deflector is and where the tab is.

This is not just fans running issue. It's a overtemp issue that puts it to sleep. The cpu temp as I understand can be 185 deg f or so before shutting down. The cup temp seems lower than this but the cpu diode temp is high.

Could be a faulty sensor or a loose heatsink. That seems possible if it isn't pumping out heat.
