So I wish to build a new gaming PC utilizing a 256gb Samsung 950 Pro ssd. I also wish to run two 1080s in watercooled SLI. Overkill is the goal. I will be overclocking to run 4k on ultra settings at the highest FPS i can milk out of it. Ive looked into the Asus Z170 Deluxe. Does anyone know if this MOBO will support SLI with an M.2 using the pcie available. Some people have said you cant even run one gpu with m.2 without losing gpue efficiency. If this is true, i can settle for 2 sata 3 in raid 0 it will run plenty fast. Ive just heard nothing but amazing things about M.2.

Well, just FYI hard drive speeds beyond a 7200RPM regular HDD won't impact game performance.

I'd suggest just getting 2 sata 3 SSDs, but not raiding them because raiding SSDs can damage their lifespan needlessly, and won't really provide a noticeable performance increase. (Also if your raid 0 dies for whatever reason (it can happen randomly) then you like, can lose the data on both drives)

Outside of benchmarking software, you won't really see the benefit of an m.2 SSD over a regular SSD.
