I have for a while had a problem with my computer. It has sometimes turned itself on by itself after i put it in sleep mode. And lately it started rebooting randomly after i clicked windows+L to lock it. Now it has started rebooting after i just let it run for a little while and screen goes black (power saving) and then it reboots.

Today when it rebooted (by itself, after screen turned black when not using the computer) it won't start. I click the "on" button, then the fans spin for a split second, I hear a faint click noise coming from the psu/gpu area with an interval of around a second or two, and thats it.

I am almost certain there are no loose screws (that can cause a short), the standoffs are correctly installed, I have also checked the cables from psu and motherboard. I also tried plugging the computer into another socket. Tried disconnecting various case fans, leds etc.

The computer is :
RM 750i corsair psu
Modestly oc 980 ti
Modestly oc 5820k
MSI X99A mobo

The computer has been running completely fine (apart from the rebooting issues) for months.

Please, anybody, help!

Solution
It sounds like a PSU failure. Try removing the GPU and connecting your monitor to the motherboard. Then boot the PC. If it displays your GPU might be bad, but not necessarily as the PSU could still be the problem.

Having access to another PSU would be best.

Plugged in my old psu, and the computer starts now. Dont know yet if the reboot problems are gone, but at least it starts and works normally!
Thank you for the help! :)
