My current CPU is: Intel Core i7 3770. I was using the gtx 650ti, and this combo lasted 3 years till the card broke and had to upgrade. So doing that I decided to get the gtx 970 as its good and affordable now. I recently downloaded a software called speccy so I can constantly monitor the temperature of my hardware. I read up online and everyone was saying different things so I created this post hoping someone can give me a correct answer based of knowing my circumstances and specs. My cards temperature is perfectly ok at around 30*c when not doing much, but If I run GTA5 or World of Warcraft it can go up a little but nothing out of the norm. However my CPU is hitting temperatures it never has before. Idle its around the 50-60*c mark. And when I run big games on high settings or generally multiple software I saw it go as high as 80*c for a bit and I got worried and closed the application. Btw I also run 16gig ddr3 ram at 1866 Mhz and my power supply is as of recently 750W as I am considering adding and making more changes in the near future I didnt want to have to change it again.

Any responses are much appreciated thank you for your support I stress all the time about small things and this is really starting to worry me I'm worries something may happen to my CPU.

Thanks :)

Naturally, the CPU will have to work harder now that it has a higher performance GPU to keep up with. While your CPU (core?) temps are not dangerously high, they are higher than we would expect for that processor. Normally it idles in the high 30Cs. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

3rd Generation 22 nanometer: i7 3770K / i5 3570K (TDP 77W / Idle 6W)

Tcase (CPU temp) = 67C
Tjunction (Core temp) = 72C
Tj Max (Throttle temp) = 105C

Any chance the stock cooler's push pins have worked loose? Have you run the system for long periods gaming? Might need a fresh thermal paste application.
Check your core temps against another app. Try https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

Thanks for the help. However I was completely at fault as my fan seemed to have gotten stuck after I closed the case. And that fan was part of my water cooling system at the back. After fixing that it went right back to 35*c ish.

Thank you for taking time to offer assistance :)
