Compatible motherboards for current CPU

I was a gifted a refurbished Dell (ugh) a few months ago. I decided to upgrade the graphics card. Turns out, only certain graphics cards will work on this motherboard because Dell reasons. (Discovered this after I purchased a card, should of known better.) After looking up the prices of the compatible cards, the only cards available that would produce any noticeable upgrade are $200+ and aren't even that much of an upgrade. So, I decided that replacing the motherboard and bypassing the Dell issue would be the best bet.

So here's the issue: The processors are two Quad Core Xeon Proc E5345. I am curious on what (if any) motherboards would be compatible. Also, would it be more cost effective and logical to just replace both the mobo and the cpu?

Any insight to this would be wonderful, even if it is just a site to check compatibility. I have checked some of those sites already but I just can't find my CPU.

Also, no idea what my motherboard is currently. It's a Dell Precision 490 if that helps at all...

Solution
The Xeon E5345 processors use the LGA 771 socket. This is generally a socket used on server boards, so your Dell may have been a server in its past life. I'm assuming you looked on PCPartpicker for compatible motherboards, and they don't offer any LGA771 boards. If you're planning to use this as a gaming machine, I'd probably change the CPU out as well as the motherboard. If you just change the board, you'd have to get another server-style board, which tends to prioritize other things than gaming.

I just checked PCpartpicker and couldn't find the LGA 771 socket selection for motherboards, so I'm guessing it's long since dead. So I guess it's changing the CPU and motherboard together. Maybe with some luck I can find a decent priced CPU/MOBO combo with a decent integrated graphics card so I can return the one I bought and put that money toward it instead.

Thank you for your assistance. Was worried that would be the case.

Actually...One more thing out curiosity. Since I'm replacing the MOBO and the CPU, would I need to check to see if my RAM is compatible with my new MOBO as well?

What type of RAM is it? You shouldn't have to, although I believe certain types of ECC RAM don't play too nicely with certain boards. Could be wrong on that though.

Yep, that's ECC RAM. Looked it up, and it doesn't play well with most non-server style boards. I'd replace that as well.
