in need of an update motherboard and processor for old dell 2350 dimension desk top. it works, but have trouble on line because it is xp pro and not updateable. do you have suggestions for poor old man in 60's??

In all honesty, that computer is so old that upgrading it is not worth it. The power supply connections will be different than modern components, the hard drive connections on the motherboard will be different, etc.

Have you considered a refurbished computer? Here is one from HP for $150 with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, a Core 2 duo processor (much faster than your Pentium 4), 1 year warranty. As you probably know you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free if done by the end of July (or stay on Windows 7).

some internet low level games, some shopping, some download games like solitaire or fishdom from gametop, not much

thanks, looking into a dell refurb intel 2.93 ghz dual core 160 gb hard drive dvd/cd drive windows 7 home prem. tower keyboard and mouse. 133.oo 1 year warranty, has 4 gb ram but should be upgradeable. Ethernet port for modem. should be similar to the loaner I am borrowing. this one has wind 10 but I am not impressed, maybe because I do not have camera or microphone. time to use the monster for a door stop.

I forgot to mention earlier that Dell has a refurb deal with Goodwill industries to offer computers for low-income folks. Don't know much about it but you could inquire with Goodwill if there is one in your area. The only thing realistically re-usable in the "monster" is probably the case.

wish there was a goodwill in the country here, and no longer drive. eyes getting cataracts, use a 23 inch tv for a monitor, just make sure it has the correct plug for computer
