Hey everyone,

I've used toms hardware in the past to help solve some of my problems and now I've come out of the shadows to get your advice.

Currently I am saving up to upgrade my current set up and I'm wondering what would give me the best gains for gaming for my buck. The budget is around we'll say an even $500 and the plan is to wait until black Friday / cyber Monday to buy the parts. I'm an avid gamer and play everything from simple indie games all the way up to the latest and greatest so maximizing FPS is my main area of concern.

My current set up is as follows:

Mobo: ASrock Z77E-ITX
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB
GFXC: GeForce GTX 780 Superclocked 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5
PSU: Corsair HX650 650w

Now what I'm wondering is should i upgrade my Mobo CPU and Ram with a combo package like this one from Newegg: Mobo Combo or go with this graphics card from MSI I've been looking at? MSI GXT 1070

Any advice would be awesome and feel free to steer me away from what i linked as a combo package if there are better choices out there.

Thank you for any and all of your help!

Your cpu is still fine for gaming. If you playing at 1080p then you can look at the GTX 1060 or RX480. You could go for the GTX 1070 also but it's still a bit early until black friday and there is no guarantee that they will be discounts on the GTX 10 series or AMD RX series.
