Rooting BLU R1 HD from Amazon

I have the BLU R1 HD unlocked phone from Amazon, the Prime Exclusive version, and it comes with a ton of pre-loaded Amazon software that cannot be uninstalled only disabled, plus the Amazon lock screen ads. It has over 5GB of storage used out of the box. I was wondering if I could easily format it and reinstall a clean version of Android Marshmallow 6.0?

That's a better answer as I will not be returning it.

Thanks.

*I was under the assumption that since it was unlocked, it could be rooted.

I just got off the phone with Amazon customer support, they said they could not find any such terms of service agreement. But they did recommend that I contact the manufacturer of the device to ask about a terms of service agreement for the device.

The manufacturer is only open during the day, so I'll have to wait to hear from them.

I just got off the phone with BLU Service Support and they simply said that they do not recommend rooting the device because it will void the warranty. They said they do not have any information on any terms of service or legality of rooting the device.

As far as I know, rooting an Android device is not illegal. And as far as the Google OS of Android itself, it has always been marketed as an open platform encouraging development and modification.

Since Amazon had no terms of service agreement, nor did BLU; I see no issue in doing this other than a void in the warranty. Seeing how the phone only cost $59, I don't have a problem with no warranty.

Amazon must have did away with it because I had an ad supported kindle and it did have a warning(during initial setup) that removing the ads was a EULA violation. Guess I falsely assumed the phone would be the same way. To my knowledge rooting is not illegal anymore(was a gray area for awhile) but will void warranties.

Maybe I'll reset the phone to factory defaults and see if it has a EULA that mentions it. It's been so long I don't remember.

I just completed the factory reset, and their appeared to be an Amazon agreement; however, upon clicking on it I found that it was blank. Whether it's a glitch or they retracted their agreement, from the info I've gathered and as far as I'm concerned there is no agreement. Thanks for your input btw!
