Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU first?

I'm currently running an FX-6300 and a Sapphire R9 270x OC with 4GB GDDR5 and 8 GB DDR3 Ram. I get around 60 fps with some drops to the 40s on Doom at ultra using Vulkan (I know, I can't believe it either, Vulkan is a beautiful thing) and 45-62 fps in Battlefield 4 using Direct X 11 (unfortunately Mantle crashes the game). According to Doom's in-game performance tests, the GPU is fine and in the green whereas the CPU is in the orange and often the red.

It is not an option for me to go Intel due to budget constraints and I'm eyeing up a good deal on an FX 8350. However, I would be crazy not to get an RX 480 for my upgrade because it's very cheap here, but I'm concerned about bottlenecks with my CPU. I can't change my 520w PSU either because of my budget. I can afford one or the either right now.

Is it worth getting an RX 480 before a CPU upgrade when they inevitably drop in price due to Zen, or should I go for an 8350 now and stick with my GPU for a bit. Advice is very much appreciated.

I would stick with the CPU, the 8350 is not going to help much, as it cores are identical, there are just more of them, at a marginally faster speed, and a game will not use more than 4 cores right now. if your case has good air flow ( and/or you have an aftermarket cooler), and you have a decent motherboard, you might be able to OC the CPU slightly which will help. I would wait for a custom PCB RX 480 though, the reference one is a tad warm, and even though the power issues are sorted out, it seems there are much better options waiting to come out within this week.

Thanks for the help Robert. I will wait for the PCBs to come out.
