Hello,
AMD FX 8120 at stock
MSI 970A G46 mobo
Geforce GT 610 2GB GPU
12GB Hyperx fury 1866Mhz(1x4+1x8GB)
CM Hyperx 212x cooler

so i installed speedfan and it shows that Fan is set to 100% usage and its at 2140RPM ,so i set it to 60% i.e 1427RPM.
Its running quite silent now but one thing the GPU is shown with a Fire logo(hope its not to worry about)
also temp2 is also with Fire logo.
While HD0(4TB WD Blue) has a Green tick marked.
temp1,temp 3 and core all are with Blue arrow pointing downwards
so is my pc safe?
or should i set my fan speed to 100%??
THanx

Nah you should be fine if you lower the fan speed, although I would watch my temps under load just to be safe. You could try Overdrive or Wattman like Outlander_04 said, although I don't know those very well and I have gotten along pretty well without them. I think those are just more for overclocking (not sure), and even then I prefer going into the BIOS, I don't trust that kind of programs a lot.

Now about your fan always running 100% on auto. Hmm, go into the BIOS and look for something like "Smart Fan Control" or something like that, if you want your board to curve the fan speed according to the CPU temp then enable it (not sure how good it is since I disabled it on mine, fan is not too loud so I don't mind). When Smart Fan Control...

You're fine. I wouldn't recommend using SpeedFan for monitoring your temps, I personally prefer Open Hardware Monitor or HWMonitor. Although, Open Hardware Monitor has worked better for me. Your temps are probably fine, SpeedFan tends to say stuff is overheating, like the GPU, when it's on default settings. Just to be sure you can post some screenshots of Open Hardware Monitor if you would like.

I have an MSI 970A G43, it was put to use on my brother's computer. I kinda know your board. I believe TEMP2 is the VRM/MOSFET. These ones tend to run a little bit hotter so as long as it's not saying something like 100C then you're fine.

Thanx for ur reply,
well tried HWinfo too and it shows everything fine.
One last thing in speedfan if i reduce the fan speed to 60% it wont cause anything to concern about isnt it?

When Smart Fan Control is disabled the board will just run the CPU fan at 100% all the time. Maybe this is why it was always running at 100% in the first place.

Hope it all goes well :)
