Hi, I see very nice rewiews with i7 920, old xeons, 2 nd gen i5, i7 and etc. It's hard to decide, older i5, i7 for 20$ still performs great these days, i know it's outdated and etc., but I also didn't played older games few years ago. Main priority is money saving. I also see nice rewiews with i3 6100, g3258 and etc., but these are more expensive. So need some recommendations what to do? :)

Hi,

First off, what are your needs ?
Then what's your budget ?
What are your knowledge about computers?

The only downside with older system is it's becoming harder to find parts if you need to replace them (mobo with older socket) Thus recommending newer gear.

If your on a tight budget and can get cheap used parts, but you know how to overclock or willing to learn, can be a good idea. But can cost more if something breaks for a reason or another.
