Massive perfomance drop on my PC

I have my own custom build PC and it was fine for a couple months but then it suddenly started to lag (On the desktop and games) I think its my HDD but i would like someone to help me out a little :p My specs: Intel i5-4460 3.20GHz quad core, GTX 960 4gb (palit), 8gb ram and 1tb seagate sshd, asus HB1M-PLUS motherboard

That PC would be approximately six times faster when loading games, installing things, virus scanning, video editing and booting up if you had a SSD as well as a HDD.
However, an SSD would make no difference once a game is up and running.

Its when i click for example the search bar at the bottom left of the desktop (windows 10) it takes a while for what i type to appear on screen and also when trying to click onto programs it takes ages to load

About 25-50% it alternates all the time :p
