Huge voltage drop on GPU causing huge fps drops

Hey,

I'm having troubles with my GPU (GTX 960M) : When playing games such as Fallout 4 or Rainbow Six Siege, I have huge voltage drops causing fps drops to 8 FPS, which is quite annoying.

By "huge", I mean from 1/1.1V to 0.9V. There is apparently no reason for that:
- My GPU is not overheating: 63°C are enough to see the problem occuring.
- My PSU is new, from Asus (My laptop is an Asus ROG G741J), and has the correct voltage (19V) and the correct amperage (6.32A) for a correct power (120W).
- Nvidia Inspector's Performance State is constant to the maximum Performance State, whch is P0.

I know there are plenty of topics about that, but I have not seen any with 0.1 / 0.2 V drop...

Please help !

My config:

Asus ROG G741J
GPU: GTX 960M
CPU: Intel Core i7 4720HQ

Solution
I apologize for the triple post.

I finally found a solution here : https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?55601-PerfCap-Reason-pwr

The solution was to replace my VGA driver with an older one, from Asus itself. Now I don't have any Voltage/Clock/FPS drop. I have absolutely no idea why the latest driver caused this problem.

By the way, this solution also fixed Nvidia Optimus (Previously, my Nvidia card was not disabled when not needed, now it is).

Here is the VGA driver I used (Windows 10 64 bits): https://www.asus.com/support/Download/1/39/4/67/rQkjulQm5y2qHcHK/45/ In the VGA category.

Thank you burgessanthony for trying to help me, and I hope this can be helpful for someone.

I know this is not thermal throttling, because I know my GPU throttles at 84°C

I'm sorry for the confusion, all I wanted to say was that even at low temps, the problem occurs.

To answer your question, I cleaned the laptop with compressed air and changed the thermal paste 3 months ago.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood.

I'm pretty sure the temps given by my softwares are correct, since the temps it gives me can go up to 84 °C, even now, if I play a game too long.
