I have a Lenovo H50 with AMD A-7800 at 3.5 GHZ, 12 GB of RAM, 2 TB HD and R7 integrated graphics. I know it is a 200-series GPU, like a 250, 260 or 240 and it has only 1 GB of memory, DDR3.

I have tried everything to find out what model it is so I could compare it to others, but wherever I check, it just says Radeon R7 Graphics. Looked in Device Manager, Gpu-z and in other places.

If you guys have any recommendations for a solid upgrade, please suggest them. I'm looking in the less than $250 range, with at least 2 GB or dedicated memory. Am also running on a stock PSU, if that helps. I'd recommend taking a look at the page for the PC for better info.

This is basically what I run: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883798515&cm_re=lenovo_H50-_-83-798-515-_-Product

Thanks in advance :)

It seems your system is running an APU, integrated graphics from AMD. The reason it is saying you are running R7 series graphics is because this is the graphical processor that the APU uses.
If you are looking around this price point for a graphics card, I would strongly recommend a Radeon RX 480, or GTX 1060, with 8GB and 6GB of VRAM respectively, but make sure you check the benchmarks first!
I would also recommend a CPU upgrade to an Athlon X4 860K, as the CPU in the APU will bottleneck a 480, and this is the best CPU that will fit your motherboard.
Hope This Helps!

Hey, thanks for responding so quickly! I was kinda looking at the 480 and the 1060 but didn't know too much about them.

Also thanks for the CPU upgrade recommendation. I'm not too sure if I would need that as my current CPU can run at 4.0 Ghz which is plenty I think for my needs. I know that the Ghz isn't everything, but I wouldn't mind knowing if the bottleneck will be that serious. If need be, I could overclock it a bit.

As for a CPU, with an 860K will see roughly a 20% increase in performance (Looking at a few Cinebench R15 scores), which I would recommend as even FX-6300 processors can bottleneck an RX 480. Not to worry though as the processor you have will be fine, you can always get the card and see if you need an upgrade or overclock later.
As for the 1060 vs 480 debate, that's another answer. The 1060 releases on the 19th, so look at sites like Kitguru or Anand Tech, where no doubt there will be a direct comparison between the cards.

Thanks for the info. I guess I gotta compare prices and what is close to my budget.

EDIT: So, the 1060 is definitely out of budget for me. So yeah, RX 480 would be better for me. I also found that the RX 480 has some power draw issues, would that have been patched with the third-party cards like the sapphire one? The Illyushia guy says something about this if you scroll down.

I don't know but would OC'ing my integrated graphics work? Might be kinda risky because if it overheats, it's right next to the motherboard and could damage it from what I understand.
