Hi, I got a gigabyte ga-8i915pmd motherboard, intel pentium 4 3.0Ghz CPU and 4GB ram combo the other day from gumtree, I'm having problems with pretty much everything as I can't get it to install windows (fresh install, USB or DVD) tried many different copy's all worked on my gaming computer but not this motherboard? after a few days trying I tried my back up HDD from my gaming rig when I upgraded to an SSD, it worked fine but it's only 80GB so I put a WD 160GB HDD in to give me some extra space for games and stuff, but It wouldn't boot and give me a BSOD "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" even though it works with just the 80GB drive in, the WD 160GB is fully formatted and checked and works on my gaming rig fine?! so don't know why it's not working?

looking in the BIOS it only shows 3GB ram and not 4GB, I've tried taking the ram out, cleaning and reseating to see if it would resolve the issue, but no luck

If you have the same motherboard or know a fix, please let me know please!!

I bet its the same family of chip set for this board. I've seen it before, ESPECIALLY if it's a one-off brand or model. I still see the same type of 'limitation' in newer/latest generation laptops and lower-end PC's being sold today!
