I'm now with my Msi Gtx 1080 gaming X, but thinking about future and new upcoming technologies, what would be an upgrade from 1080? Grab an Pascal Titan? 1080 ti? Or just wait for the next Volta/Pascal refresh Gpu? (Keep in mind i would re sell this card to grab a new one)

Well really depends on what games you play to use SLI, although I would have to agree that multiple gpu's are hardly used in most games (well not used well).
Well to run at 4K over 60fps, without SLI. With a single gpu you may be waiting a couple of generations. Maybe Volta or futher on.
Remember as gpu's advance games also get more and more demanding, so even if a top of the line card in a couple years can run Witcher 3 at 4k at 90fps. Another newer game that is even more demanding by then could only run at 50fps.
So...

Well right now the GTX 1080 is the fastest single GPU, so it would be hard to say what could be a good upgrade from it.

Depending on your usage getting another GTX 1080 might be good, however if trends stay the same waiting for a 1080ti may be an upgrade. Waiting for futher GPU's will also be a bigger upgrade.
You can always wait for the next GPU to come out to upgrade.

What setup are you running to want to have better gpu's anyway?

=-good luck

See below my specs, and u have an 4k monitor right now, so i just want to keep the cutting edge and most powerfull parts trough next gens, and, dont like to use sli, there so much games/apps that dont use dual gpus

Whatever drives your current screen or VR headset to a speed you enjoy without worrying too much about things only a trained fighter pilot would notice, then either another 1080 might be good enough for enjoyable 4K with gsync but to get a solid max FPS on the upcoming 144Hz 4K screens you'd be asking a lot from even 2 1080ti(s). The RX 490 will be out soon and is a dual Polaris 10 GPU single card that will beat a 1080 in most games and should be cheaper. Vega early next year will top that but using HBM will be expensive to make and thus priced. At that point, by mid-point next year, you'll see cards capable of driving 5K 144Hz screens and some justification to hold off upgrading a few generations after that point.

So in my opinion a great upgrade would be volta or even futher, if you always want the cutting edge I'd wait for the Titan to come out ;) and then always wait for the top of the line card come out every generation.
It is really hard to future proof at the speed of the graphics industry

Thanks guys... And ahh... Rx 490 remeber me about the r9 295x2... Just a crossfire, if the game only requieres one gpu it becomes an waste of money, and a massive energy consumption, thats why i would never buy those dual gpu graphics cards... I will wait for volta... 1180? And i ever sticked with the 80 gpus (680-780-980-1080 now), titan is something excessive and overpriced i think... Uh

Wait till some thing better comes out and prices drop .titans work for gaming but with the amount of memory they got. Thier actually resigned for program that use gpu compute ECT other wise ya wouldn't even get full use out them you're be eating money on cards ya don't really need unless ya using software that actually takes advatage of it like advanced cad ECT
