Greetings people,
Recently i noticed that i have very low fps - or - fps drops in most of my games

PC :
intel core I7 4790 3.60 ghz
ram 8Gb Amd+G.skill
GTx660 2GB
2x HDD's
msi krait edition Z97S motherboard
600 Watt Force psu

i took action and used the program called novabench
to see what rating i get i alwats kept a good file of my score and it was 1785
now that i tested it i got 1400 or so..

i checked to see wich combonent caused that drop and i saw its the GPU...
i checked temperatures and they are ok....
what is causing the gpu to act like this?

Solution
Hi it is very likely a driver issue. I had issues like this when I ran a 660 on my 1440p monitor. I had to reduce my games resolution to 1080p and when the game ran sometimes it would be very slow ~20FPS and other times it would be over 100FPS. Normally ALT TABing to the desktop and back few times fixed the issue. A newer driver did fix this issue though about 3 months ago. I recommend you install the latest drivers and click the clean install tickbox. Other than that, it might be worth while to reinstall windows before thinking of changing hardware.
hope this helps,
Gabor
