So after years of wanting to build a pc i decided to go for it. I bought some parts new and some parts used. I tried booting up the pc outside the case with all the PSU connector in as well as only with the 24-pin connector and nothing happens. I've even done the paper clip method for the PSU and it works however hooked up it doesn't. Although previously i bent 2 pins on my CPU but i fixed them and they were able to fit in my motherboard no struggle, although the PSU should still work regardless, right?. I've plugged my monitor/tv in and turned it on but nothing happens there. The only thing i know that works is my motherboard LED. help?!

Solution

Yes that's what it will be labelled on the cable and in the motherboard booklet.

Yes double check the power connections, the CPU power should be 1x4 or 2x4 pins and make sure there isnt a 6+2 pin connected where the cpu should go.

So the motherboard is receiving power although your CPU/GPU and PSU aren't turning on. Maybe it is your power button, check that it is connected properly and in the right position.
