Mine is Seagate 500GB 2.5" Laptop HD Drive. Was Working fine till yesterday when i booted my laptop it was booting perfectly but at some point (randomly) when am in windows , it make one click noise and freeze the system. that happend around 5-6 times.so i removed the hdd from laptop and tried to diagnose the problem.

I then dissambled the HDD PCB , cleaned the contacts and assembled it back , and put back the hdd in system . but now its not even booting up :??: . i just see error message sayin " NO BOOTABLE DEVICE FOUND" . i tried removing the pcb again and placing it back correctly ... still no luck :( .

i tried it in other system using HDD casing , again its making noise and not spinning.

please help me fixing it.

Thanks For Reading and Answering !!

It is not the HDD making the beeping noise. Most likely it is some error code signal generated by the motherboard.

You will need to check the laptops's manual or its motherboard's manual to determine what the beep code/pattern may mean.

In your case, the beep code probably means that no hard drive/bootable device is available.

That, plus the described clicking noise, suggests to me that the HDD catastrophically failed.

Doublecheck all of your connections. Try the drive in a external USB case if you can.

Unfortunately, the drive is probably gone.
