Hey geeks! i need a lil' help or explaining. I just put my old pc together after a good clean and installed a fresh OS on it. Now when everything is working, im noticing that my CPU is always at a constant 50%+ usage. I looked trough task manager to check what was using that much CPU and so far i've come to the conclusion that it's Svchost.exe and System (NT Kernel) or something like that. How do i fix this, i have tried to dissable some different things under MSconfig to see if that worked as people said it would, but it didn't.. :(

Thanks in advance - Nick.

EDIT: The Cpu itself is an Intel Core 2 6600 Quad 2.4 GHz

Solution
It can be virus. Virus put themselves in .exe files. So if you have any .exe files (like installers) in another drive, even if you do a clean windows install, the virus remains in your computer.

Also new windows does some updates, indexing and such thins. The two processes you mentioned is of windows's itself.

Yeah, okay. I guess i'll try to reinstall once more then ^^. Only thing is that when i reinstall windows i make sure to delete everything on all my drives before i reinstall it. But ill try.

Being a fresh windows install, it has background work to do. You could disable prefetch, superfetch and indexing to avoid this, but you shouldn't, unelss you are on an SSD.
So just allow it time to do it's work. A couple of hours should suffice. This is ofcourse, after you have updated Win to the day.
