Headphones with built in mic wont work on windows 7

Hey, I have a laptop with 1 Audio jack which is a combo jack.

My problem is that when i used my headphones on windows 10 it recognized that it had a microphone while on windows 7 it wont even detect it.
Is there a way to fix this without any
adapters?

In sound settings, set the headphones as default, make sure the microphone input is active not disabled (default setting) and make sure the front Jacks are active (if that's what you use, sometimes the front Jacks are off)
