I just got my gtx 1070 and installed the latest nvidia drivers. But everytime i try to play a movie or a game, my nvidia driver crashes. I either get a bsod or a blank/black screen.

What do I do?

It might be that you could possibly have corrupted your GPU and need to re-install the drivers. And if that doesnt work, i would back up all your data to a external hdd or whatever you have and clean reset your desktop. (Also complete a thorough hardware check on the 1070 to see if there is any damage to it.) Lastly, if you still cant get videos/games to work, i would get a new card.

And one more thing actually, what BSOD error are you getting? I used to have this problem on my old laptop with a 950m. I would get video_scheduler_internal_error or something like that, and would get it from games crashing 5-10 mins after gameplay. The reset worked fine for me and i had no more issues after that

i would get driver irql not less or equal and video scheduler internal error.
I also installed and removed the 368.81, 368,69 and 368,39 drivers to test if the driver build was the issue, but with every driver the same thing happened

I'll try to reset windows and update you when that's done

Turns out, reinstalling windows didn't work. I contacted nvidia customer help, but they didn't provide an answer either.
Then i installed all the cd's that came with my computer. And after that i found a fix on the internet about increasing gpu processing time(http://www.wintips.org/fix-display-driver-stopped-responding-and-has-recovered-bsod-0x00000116/). I have no idea if this worked, but at least i can play games again. Thanks for your help!
