Hi
I have an asus m2n4sli motherboard. My current graphics card is Radeon x800 gto. It works fine with Windows 7 pro but I upgraded to Windows 10 pro and the card is not recognized. I would like to know if the Asus GeForce GTX650-E-1GD5 is compatible with the motherboard. I checked the Asus website and it is compatible with Windows 10. I know the board is pci 2.0 but the card is backwards compatible. As if you couldn't tell. I am not a gammer. No games. My computer is used for research and office work.
Thank you for your help,
Kevin

To answer in the shortest way, PCIe is backwards compatible, forwards compatible too. p
No worries about the shader business. IT does require a bit more finesse to explain that sort of thing that i possess. I am gonna guess that Windows 10 may be a bit touchy with any graphics card or iGPU which does not use unified shader model. Sadly The ATi Radeon X800 Series have a different layout and i think only support shader model 2.0. like i said i am assuming but im sure there is workarounds. Nevertheless, the gtx 650 undoubtedly work with that board and you may find less of a hassle with Windows 10.

Thank you Vitric9. I don't understand the shader stuff but it's ok. I ran across a GTX650-E-2GD5. Will that one also work for me? Or should I stick with the GTX650-E-1GD5. Does it matter?
Thanks again.
Very much appreciated
